    Description

A wonderful vintage DeLillo Gold Tone Choker Collar Necklace! Fabulous statement necklace from the highly sought after designer William DeLillo.
William DeLillo was born in Belgium and moved to the United States in the 1950's. After working for Cartier and Harry Winston, in 1967, he formed a high-design costume jewelry company with Robert F. Clark, the former head designer for Miriam Haskell. Both DeLillo and Clark were responsible for designing many pieces for haute couture collections for designers such as Nina Ricci, Schiaperelli, Chanel and others.
Considered "art jewelry" limited numbers of DeLillo pieces were created until 1976. DeLillo jewelry is incredibly detailed in design and mostly created for wealthy private clients including the Duchess of Windsor and Elizabeth Taylor. DeLillo jewelry items are often considered sculptural works of art (especially the ornate collars) and are of the most collectable and sought after.
This wonderful DeLillo piece is a gold tone four layered row chain and textured pattern somewhat Egyptian Revival looking collar necklace. The necklace is signed DeLillo on the clasp. It is in excellent condition. It is Gold electroplated on Brass with an Interlocking closure.
The collar measures 1 1/2" wide. It measures 14 1/4" around neck line and will fit most necks. It lays beautifully on the neckline with it's curved design and it look fabulous!
